Teodoro Alvarez was born in Saint Lucia, Canelones department. He graduated from surveyor in Montevideo in 1873, and agricultural engineer at the Agronomic Institute of Paris in 1881. Its extensive career took him to go into all issues relating to agriculture, health problems and their control, provision of seeds, the installation of the first Agricultural Station, was a teacher in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil and has also many outstanding fees.
