Tribute to promoter of modern agriculture

Tuesday December 5, at 18.00 am in the University of the Republic, celebrating a century of the first edition of the General Agriculture, written by Teodoro Alvarez, Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries organizing this event. Teodoro Alvarez was born in Saint Lucia, Canelones department. He graduated from surveyor in Montevideo in 1873, and agricultural engineer at the Agronomic Institute of Paris in 1881. Its extensive career took him to go into all issues relating to agriculture, health problems and their control, provision of seeds, the installation of the first Agricultural Station, was a teacher in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil and has also many outstanding fees. He was author of important publications and member of numbers and correspondent for several national scientific societies and abroad. His work is
