The Spanish Association of Beef Cattle Producers (Asoprovac) has expressed its concern about the revival of negotiations with Marcos countries, so that would affect beef. The association has stressed the need to impose on third countries, the same production requirements that are required for European producers, in order not to affect their competitiveness.

Alberto Juanita, Asoprovac president, made the remarks at the General Assembly Asoprovac Partner, held last week in Toledo and attended by the Minister of Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs, Elena Espinosa, and counselor Agriculture and Environment of Castillo La Manchu, Jose Luis Martinez Guajardo.

Elena Espinosa praised the “innovative effort” in this sector which represents over 18% of the final output density. For his part recalled that Martinez Guajardo beef cattle sector is key to the economy of Castillo La Manchu, where more than 3,000 families live directly from this activity and produce about 60,000 tons per year, representing almost 10% of the total Spanish production.
