Occurs due to the gradual decrease of the energy / energy used in its production, which is disturbing considering the one hand it is fossil fuels, and therefore limited to a specified period of decades, and secondly, that fertilizers, mainly nitrogen, are products of high energy consumption. Thus, nitrogen consumes 15 to 20 termias.kg-1, phosphorus 3 to 15 termias.kg-1 and potassium from 1 to 2 termias.kg-1, and these fertilizers are 20% to 50% of farm inputs from outside the sector and respond to 24% of total energy consumption of the farm.
