Abstract: This paper argues in favor of a decision support approach relying on an explicit and rigorous modeling of the management strategy that underlies any farmer’s decision making behavior. A strategy is a roadmap of intended technical tasks over a management period. It is tied to an overall objective and specifies what to do depending of the encountered situations.
